Aging is a fundamental, unsolved mystery in biology. Understanding mechanisms of aging and determinants of life span will help to reduce age-related morbidity and facilitate healthy aging. Extension of life span is currently possible with measures of gene manipulation and caloric resistant in animal models. Here, I have focused on understanding the underlying mechanism, genes involves and theories of biological aging. In addition to understanding the aging process, the factors involved and the transcriptional role are also studied to establish effective means of intervention, prevention and modulation of aging.
